Buttons on the Reader: ? Top-left hand corner: F1. ? Top-right hand corner: F2. ? Bottom-left hand corner: F3. ? Bottom-right hand corner: F4. ? Center: Directional (Up/Down/Right/Left) controls with the Read/Enter in the center. Switch the System On? Press F1, pause, then press F2. Switch the System Off? Long press F4 until a chime rings, then press F4 again. Switch the Camera On? Long press the small, flat, textured On/Off button on the side of the camera that has operating controls. Switch the Camera Off? Press the same button On/Off button on the side of the camera. Get Help? Press Up or Down Arrow to move from one document to the next in the Documentation Explorer. Press Right Arrow to select a document and to have the Reader present the Table of Contents for the document. Press Enter to select a document and press Right or Left Arrows to hear each character of the document name; press Enter again to begin reading the document. Long press Up Arrow to hear a Table of Contents when prompted and press Up or Down Arrow to move through the chapter or section selections; press Enter to begin reading the document. Press F3 when listening to a document to return to Documentation Explorer. Press F3 in Documentation Explorer to exit. Change Modes? Press F2 repeatedly until desired mode is spoken, options include: ? Document Reader. ? User Settings. In this mode, press Up or Down Arrow to hear settings. ? Shooting Mode. Save Documents, Images, and Voice Notes? Choose automatic save options under User Settings or long press F2 to save manually. Capture Multiple Pages in a Single File? Press Down Arrow twice in Document Reader, and use Left and Right Arrows to toggle between single and multiple paging. Start a New Document with the Next Picture? Long press Down Arrow in Document Reader before taking the picture. Hear Field of View Report Before Taking a Picture? Press Up Arrow in Shooting Mode with the camera on and aimed at a target document. View Image Before Taking a Picture (Turn View Finder On) ? Press F3 in Shooting Mode with the camera on. Refocus Image in View Finder? Press F3 in Shooting Mode if View Finder is on. Turn View Finder Off? Press F4 in Shooting Mode with View Finder on. Take a Picture? Press Down Arrow in Shooting Mode with the camera on. Listen to Captured Active Text? Press Enter in Shooting Mode or Document Reader. Pause the Speech When Listening? Press Enter. Resume Listening to Text? Press Enter in Shooting Mode or Document Reader. Set Desired Segment of Active Text to be Spoken? Press Up Arrow in Document Reader to choose one of seven options: ? Read by document. ? Read by page. ? Read by paragraph. ? Read by sentence. ? Read by line. ? Read by word. ? Read by character. Listen to Active Text by Desired Text Segment? Press Right Arrow in Document Reader or Shooting Mode to move forward or Left Arrow to move backward by the desired text segment. Repeat and Spell a Word? Long press Right Arrow to repeat and spell the first word of a text segment. Read the document from the beginning? Long press Enter in Shooting Mode or Document Reader. Change User Settings? Press F2 repeatedly until you hear User Settings. Press Up and Down Arrows to cycle through the six settings options. The options are listed here in the order in which the Reader presents them: ? Camera Resolution. ? Reading Mode. ? File Saving Options. ? Set Date and Time. ? Camera Flash Mode. ? Auto Shut Down. Change Document Format-Reading Mode? In User Settings, press Up or Down Arrows to go to Reading Mode and press Right and Left Arrows to switch between the following two Reading Mode options: ? Books, Articles, and Labels. ? Bills and Memos. Set Date and Time? In User Settings, press Up or Down Arrow to go to Set Date and Time. Press Right Arrow to move through date and time selections and press Up and Down Arrow to change them. Press Enter to save changes. Change File Saving Options? In User Settings, press Up or Down Arrows to go to File Saving options and press Right and Left Arrows to select the automatic or manual saving options. Change Auto Shut Down Time? In User Settings, press Up or Down Arrows to go to Auto Shut Down options and press Right and Left Arrows to select the idle time by which to automatically shut down the system. Change Document Reader Options? Press F2 repeatedly until you hear Document Reader. Change Speaking Speed? In Document Reader, press Down Arrow three times, then press Right and Left Arrows to choose the desired speed; Left Arrow decreases and Right Arrow increases. Change Speaking Volume? In Document Reader, press Down Arrow four times, then press Right and Left Arrows to choose the desired volume (Left Arrow decreases and Right Arrow increases). Record a Voice Note? In Document Reader, long press F3 and listen for instructions. Recording begins automatically at the sound of one beep and ends automatically with two beeps. Press F3 while Voice Note is Recording to stop recording. Press F4 while Voice Note is recording to cancel recording. Save and Link a Voice Note to the Active Document? Press F3 after Voice Note recording stops. Save a Recorded Voice Note as a Standalone Note? Press Down Arrow after Voice Note recording stops. Cancel Saving a Voice Note? Press F4 after the Voice Note is recorded. Finding Saved Documents, Images, and Voice Notes? In Document Reader mode, press Down Arrow once, press Enter to enter File Explorer. Press Up or Down Arrow to move between Reader Documents, Reader Images, and Reader Voice Notes folders and to move through folder and file names. Press Right Arrow to move into folders and Down Arrow to hear subfolder and file names. Press Left Arrow to move back from one level to the next level up in the directory tree. Press Right Arrow on a file name to enter the file. Press Enter on a file name to select the file and press Right or Left Arrow to hear each character of the file name; press Enter again to enter the file. Press F3 when listening to a file to return to File Explorer. Press F3 when in the directory tree of File Explorer to return to Document Reader. Delete Saved Documents, Images, Voice Notes or Entire Folders? In Document Reader mode, press Down Arrow, then press Enter to enter File Explorer. Press the Arrow keys to locate the file name or folder name to delete, then long press Down Arrow to delete, and press Down Arrow again to confirm. System Operations Cancel-Escape? Press F4. Reset-Reboot the System? Long press F4, then release and press F3. Optional Reset-Reboot? Press recessed round button located in a finger-sized hole on the flat ?power end? near the edge of the PDA. Get System, Battery, and Memory Card Status? Press F1 twice for the system battery status and memory card available space, but not the camera battery status.
